OCTOBER 2014 NEWSLETTER

On a Personal Note

Fall is in the air!  And leaves are literally everywhere.  But the color is starting so I can’t regret the mess.  Mother Nature closing things down for another season.  Still have blooms in the garden.  So one last little hurrah!   Went into the city to see Idina Menzel in If/Then recently.  Was wonderful.  She has such an amazing voice.  And her supporting cast was excellent!  And of course it was wonderful to be back in the city.  There’s such amazing energy.  That said, it’s nice to have a little peace and quiet and room!  So the best of both worlds, living close to Manhattan and here amidst all the beauty of Connecticut.

On the Writing Front

The big news is that Wild Highland Rose is now out in audio on iBooks, Amazon and Audible.

And both Wild Highland Rose and The Promise are now available again in print!  Check out Amazon or B&N.

And don’t forget my Liar’s Game Series is available now in digital format!  Eye of the Storm, Chain Reaction and Still of the Night.

Writer’s Police Academy was amazing!  Great hands-on training.  How to disarm a gunman, and a knife attack.  Meggitt (a video gun training program).  The pics are of a demonstration of how to blow a door off a building and a nighttime investigation of a body in the woods.  All kinds of fabulous classes, from policemen and women, forensics specialists, secret service, ATF and much more.  Was so cool.

Up next the NJRWA conference!  And then NINC!  It’s been an amazingly busy year!

What I'm Watching/Reading

I actually read ALL of Nora Robert’s trilogies (and a few quartets) this summer.  What fabulous books!  Can’t say enough.  And my favorites changed with each new series.  Although I think the Circle was my favorite. Or maybe Three Sisters Island.  Well…really they were all wonderful.  I also have been reading a lot of Barbara Samuels’ older novels.  And have been loving them as well.  In particular, The Sleeping Night, which I believe is one of her very best!  Fabulous book.  Also reread some of Mary Stewarts (RIP) books.  I still love every word that she wrote.  This time read Nine Coaches Waiting, Wildfire at Midnight and This Rough Magic. Now that the new TV season has started, I’ll probably be reading a little less.  But am still looking forward to the last in Nora’s Dark Witch series coming out at the end of this month.  As to TV – liking the new series Forever so far. And so happy for the return of Sleepy Hollow and The Blacklist.
