OCTOBER 2013 NEWSLETTER

On a Personal Note

Well first off I must report that the clock pendulum was recovered although not exactly in the original shape intended. But thanks to my husband and a mallet it’s back in place and working like a charm. Nice to know somethings come out right in the end. The rest of the house is in order and ready for family over the holidays. While I’ll miss the hustle bustle of holidays in Manhattan, I’m looking forward to holidays in the country. Should be fun.

The garden has been a total delight. With leaves falling everywhere (and I mean everywhere), the asters and golden rod are still blooming along with a few straggling phlox. Amazing to see everything come up throughout the summer – never without blooms. Can’t wait to start all over again next spring. But first we must learn to deal with leaves.

Gus of course, thinks they’re for chasing and jumping on. Maybe we need to adopt that philosophy! For pics of the garden and of Gus, check out my Facebook page.

Writing News

Still working on getting my backlist re-released. So the big news this month is the re-release of my Matchmaker Chronicles. A Match Made on Madison and Set-Up in Soho.

Rival matchmakers Vanessa Carlson and her mentor Althea Sevalas are out to prove once and for all who is the very best in Manhattan’s elite dating biz. Once a winner is crowned through a very public match, there will be no question as to who rules in matrimonial mergers. But sometimes love has a mind of its own.

When Andrea Sevalas’ long time boyfriend announces he’s seeing someone else, Andi’s Aunt Althea (the infamous Manhattan matchmaker) figures a little manipulation is in order. Things are going charmingly until truth is revealed. Still, with Althea at the helm, Andi will discover that love comes in all kinds of packages, and that sometimes all it takes to recognize the fact, is opening your heart to the possibility.

Watch early next year for the re-release of Eye of the Storm and Chain Reaction – part of my Liars Game series.  And look for a new Matchmaker novella in the spring. Along with the promised new time travel next summer. And the Devil May Care books from Julie Kenner and I in April. And for my suspense fans, watch for a new series starting in 2015. I promise it will be worth the wait.

I’m happy to announce that Double Danger is a finalist in this year’s Golden Leaf Awards. The winners will be announced at the NJ conference next week. I’ll be there. Look forward to seeing some of you as well.

And don’t forget the final installment of the A-Tac series, Dire Distraction!

What I'm Watching/Reading

Been totally enthralled with the White Queen. Two episodes left and sadly no second season. But it does make me appreciate Phillipa Gregory’s books all over again. The new television season is upon us. So far the only new shows intriguing me are Sleepy Hollow, The Crazy One’s and Blacklist. The others left me cold. As have a couple of old favorites. But I did cry buckets when Ziva left NCIS. On the reading front, have been enjoying Jill Shalvis’s newest series. As well as Bella Andre’s Sullivan series. And I’m super delighted for my BFF Julie Kenner and her success with her amazing Stark series. If you haven’t read them definitely check them out.
