I can't believe the summer is already over halfway
finished. Where did the time go? In just a few more weeks my
daughter will be off to college and we'll officially have an empty nest, at
least until the holidays. HS graduation was fabulous. Two very proud
parents. It's the beginning of a brand new chapter! How
exciting.
We just got back from a flying trip to DC to meet our
great-niece. Which always makes me feel old to type. But she's
gorgeous and such a wonderful baby! And we got to do a little touring in
DC as well. Saw the new (ish) FDR monument, at night. Really
fabulous. Captures his essence as well as recounting the times in which he
governed. We also visited the Postal museum which is engrossing.
Watching a film about grabbing mail from a train was fascinating in an of itself
and that's just one tiny portion. We also spent an entire day at the
Newseum. A museum for all things 'news'. It was really great.
A look at television, radio, newspaper and the internet through the years and
how they've impacted all of our lives. You could spend several days and if
you go, I'd plan accordingly.
Home again now in Manhattan and hunkering down for the
heat. WOW. I thought I'd left it behind. Keep your
fingers crossed for the tomatoes and peppers on the balcony. Heading to
Colorado in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see the mountains!

I've just finished the fifth A-Tac novel, Deadly Dance.
For those of you who were Last Chance fans--this is Harrison's book.
I promised he'd get his day! It's slated to come out in April next
year. So watch Facebook and my website for excerpts and the cover when it
becomes available.
Out on shelves now--well, actually I should say out in
cyberspace now--an A-Tac Novella (Lara's story) Daring. Available in
e-format only--you can get it online at the usual places. (For those of
you who haven't given up on paper--watch my website for an upcoming contest to
win a hard copy of Daring!) Set in Africa
it follows Lara as she tries to move past her loss and
instead gets caught up in a deadly game. Here's the back cover blurb:
As the former medical officer for
A-Tac, an elite CIA unit masquerading as faculty at an Ivy League college, Lara
Prescott saved many lives. But the memory of the one person she couldn’t save has brought her back into harm’s way—and into the sights of a formidable
adversary . . .
NOWHERE IS SAFE
Lara thought working a world away
would heal her. Yet volunteering to treat the sick and injured in
revolution-torn central Africa can’t stop the shattering memories of losing the
man she loved. A night with sexy security officer Rafe Winters seems the perfect
temporary escape—until insurgents attack her clinic and Rafe becomes her only
way to survive . . .
Rafe knows all too well that this
beautiful young doctor is the insurgents’ real target: her knowledge of
America’s espionage system makes her a valuable prize. Helping her flee
jeopardizes his hidden agenda—but her unexpected trust in him sparks a desire to
protect that he can’t ignore. Now as their merciless pursuers close in, Rafe and
Lara’s only chance for escape will put everything they’ve sworn to protect—and
their newfound love—on the line . . .
And
Tucker's story, Deep Disclosure will be available online and in bookstores on
August 23rd! So mark your calendars. Set in part in New Orleans,
it's a wild ride.

After spending years in prison under deep cover, black ops agent Tucker
Flynn joins A-Tac, an elite
CIA unit masquerading as faculty at an Ivy League college. Nothing
can shake him-except a vulnerable young woman marked for death.
DUAL DECEPTION
When Tucker is assigned to protect-and secretly investigate-Alexis Markham, he
expects a routine mission. But this mysterious beauty has a past even darker
than his: her father created a horrifying new biochemical weapon-and was
murdered to keep it secret.
Alexis has spent the last decade racing to stay one step ahead of the shadowy
operatives who will stop at nothing to possess her father's formula. She can
trust no one, not even her handsome new bodyguard. But the heat that flares
between them is impossible to resist. Will giving in to passion bring her the
safety she's always craved, or will her love for Tucker draw him into a killer's
sights?
Check out my website for excerpts, reviews and links for pre-ordering both books.
Next up, is Double Danger. I'm already starting to
finalize the plot, and will start writing as soon as I finish with revisions on
Deadly Dance. Double Danger is currently
scheduled for early 2013. So lots of A-Tac coming down the pipeline!

Had a marvelous time at RWA this year. On my home
turf, in Manhattan, it was fun to catch up with old friends and meet new ones!
And next up, I'm off to Rom Con in Denver. It'll be my first time to go,
and I'm really looking forward to it!
In contest news, we have a winner!
And she will
receive an autographed copy of Set-Up in SoHo.
The second in my Matchmaker series.

I've literally been doing nothing but writing for the
last few months. But I did recently read Water for Elephants and loved it!
Thought it was an amazing book. And also am currently reading Rob Lowe's
biography which is really well written and fascinating. Also on my TBR
pile, Julia Quinn's latest and Tina Fey's bio. I know, I'm dreadfully
behind. In TV news, have been watching all my summer favorites, and
bid a fond farewell to Friday Night Lights. I'll miss it!
