APRIL 2007 NEWSLETTER

Spring is in the air!  And this year it's coming in red patent.  When I was a little girl, black patent Mary Janes were a must have.  Well they're back, only this time they're sexy.  So if you only get one item this spring -- make it patent.

New York is booming. While the rest of the country is in a housing slump, Manhattan is seeing no decline in the steady increase of prices.  And with so many rental buildings going condo as a result, rents are out of sight.  Which is of course not a good thing when you're renting in the city.  But then who ever said that living in Manhattan was easy.  Actually it's almost a full-body contact sport.

On the Broadway front, we saw Mary Poppins.  Very true to the movie and to the books, which is a feat unto itself.  Definitely a fun experience.  On the other end of the spectrum we also saw Les Miserables.  Have seen the national tour a couple of times in Austin.  But the intimacy of a New York theater changes the experience completely.  It was fabulous.  And since my daughter had never seen it -- fun to see it through her eyes as well.  Up next, no stone throwing -- I liked the movie -- Legally Blonde.   Can't wait to see the Bend and Snap number.  Also seeing a play, Deuces, with Angela Landsbury. And wishing I'd gotten tickets to see Vanessa Redgrave.  Oh well, can't do it all --

NOW the big news!   A MATCH MADE ON MADISON goes on sale today!  So for those of you who are planning to buy please do it this week.  It really helps with numbers and since this is a new direction for me -- I need your help!!!!!

I really am excited about the book -- I love the cover -- I think St. Martin's did a fabulous job.  It so perfectly reflects the book itself!  To order, click on the cover.

Uptown Emma helps Elite to Meet!

The story of a matchmaker, a no holds barred bet, and the unwelcome fact that sometimes love has a mind of its own.

In other related news.  Match will be coming out in Germany in July!  The title German title is "High Heels und Hochzeitskleid."   And here's the German cover...

Match is also coming out in Italy, Russia and Brazil.

I'm also delighted to announce that the official title of the sequel to Match is -- ta da.... SET-UP IN SOHO.   It shaping up to be a really fun story -- keep an eye posted on my website for updates, teasers and excerpts.

And coming in June -- a new romantic suspense, CHAIN REACTION, and the sequel to last year's anthology, Hell with the Ladies, HELL ON HEELS

On the contest front, we have a winner.  She'll be receiving a copy of Hell on Heels as well as a book by author Mary Stewart.  In my novella, I use one of the character names from Airs on the Ground.  My tribute to my favorite writer.

This time 'round there will be TWO contests.  One on the suspense side and one on the surprise side.  So check out my website  www.deedavis.com for full details. To be entered all you have to do is sign up for my newsletter.  (They're the same so if you've signed up for the suspense side already you're on this one as well.)

I've also taken a jump into the twenty-first century and actually have a myspace page.  (Will wonders never cease?) Check out www.myspace.com/deedavisauthor  And if you've got a presence there would love an add!  A girl can never have too many friends.

Got to be honest, I've been working way to much and reading not nearly enough.  But have had the chance to pursue a couple of really good books.  The first by one of my favorite authors, Linda Francis Lee -- The Devil in the Junior League.  FABULOUS book!   Also read the second of Emily Giffin's series.   This one was Something Blue.  I loved the first one (Something Borrowed). I wasn't sure she could live up to the same with the second.  But she did and then some.  Can't wait to read the next.  Also had the chance to read a great book that will be out this fall from St. Martin's.  Andrea Meyer's, Room for Love.  A really fun read.  Also read a couple of Ellen DeGeneres' books. She cracks me up.  Her mother's memoir is also really good.

As always, write and let me know what you think of my books, upcoming releases, or just writing in general. I love hearing from you!!!! You can reach me at Or by snail mail at P.O. Box 7231, NY, NY 10150
