Mary Stewart books in Dee Davis books

One of Dee’s favorite authors is Mary Stewart. In fact, when Everything In Its Time sold to Berkley, as a treat, Dee scoured the internet to buy hardback copies of all Mary Stewart’s books. She now owns the complete collection including the hard to find "The Wind off the Small Isles." As a tribute to Ms. Stewart, Dee included a reference to one of her books or characters in her first fifteen books.

Can you find the reference? Some, like Everything in its Time (The Ivy Tree) are easily spotted. And others, like Marcus’ story in Hell with the Ladies (Airs Above the Ground) are a bit more tricky.
